Brighton forward Evan Ferguson has completed a loan move to West Ham until the end of the season, it has been announced.
“Evan has had a frustrating 12 months with injuries and for him to get back to the level he’s capable of and to continue his development, he really needs to be playing regularly,” Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said in a statement.
“This loan gives him that opportunity, and under a manager he knows well. We are looking forward to watching Evan’s progress over the next few months, and we wish him well.”
Ferguson joined Brighton from Irish club Bohemians in 2021 and was widely regarded as one of the Premier League‘s brightest talents thanks to his technical ability and keen eye for goal.
He scored a hat trick against Newcastle United in 2023 and was linked with a move to many of Europe’s top clubs.
Only Michael Owen (28), Wayne Rooney (15) and Francis Jeffers (12) scored more Premier League goals before their 19th birthday than Ferguson.
