CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The newfound confidence of Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young isn’t restricted to his throwing.

The top pick of the 2023 draft has been more comfortable running as well, and he used it to his advantage for 10-yard touchdown scramble on third-and-6 midway through the second quarter of Sunday’s NFC South game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It was his first rushing touchdown since the opener, a 47-10 loss to the Saints, and second of his career. He didn’t have one during his rookie season.

Young used the same improved decisiveness in opting to scramble as he has with the pass lately. As soon as he felt pressure coming from his right, he took off running to his left and held the ball across the goal line as Bucs safety Antoine Winfield Jr. tackled him on his way out of bounds.

The touchdown gave Carolina a 10-7 lead.
