The Los Angeles Dodgers opened the season as favorites to win the World Series and finished the season that way. The Dodgers had opened at +550, moved to +450 after signing Shohei Ohtani in the offseason and now sit at +300 at ESPN BET. The National League East-winning Philadelphia Phillies sit at +425 (behind only the Dodgers and tied with the Yankees).

Speaking of those New York Yankees, they still boast the best odds in the American League at +425 to win the World Series and +165 to claim the pennant. At +800, the NL West champion Houston Astros are currently the only other team with better than 10-1 World Series odds.
The action begins Tuesday with four best-of-three wild-card series featuring the Detroit Tigers at the Houston Astros (ABC), the Kansas City Royals at the Baltimore Orioles (ESPN2), the New York Mets at the Milwaukee Brewers (ESPN) and the Atlanta Braves at the San Diego Padres (ESPN). The Dodgers, Yankees, Phillies and Cleveland Guardians have byes and await the winners for the ALDS and NLDS, which will begin Saturday.
