After 16 NBA seasons, four-time All-Star Paul Millsap has retired from basketball, he told ESPN on Tuesday.
Millsap, the No. 47 pick in the 2006 NBA draft, spent his career with the Utah Jazz, Atlanta Hawks, Denver Nuggets, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. He last played in the NBA for the Nets and 76ers during the 2021-22 season.
He is one of eight players in NBA history to have reached 500 3-pointers, 1,000 blocks and 1,000 steals. Millsap and Draymond Green were the only players to record 300 3-pointers and 300 blocks between 2013 to 2017.

During his run with the Hawks from 2013-17, Millsap made four consecutive Eastern Conference All-Star appearances while averaging 17.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He was part of multiple postseason runs in Atlanta, including a 2015 trip to the Eastern Conference Finals after the team won a franchise-record 60 games that season.
Millsap joined the Nuggets in 2017 as a major free-agent signing, making three playoff runs in his four seasons there, including a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 2020, while serving as a standout performer and leader on and off the court.
For his career, Millsap averaged 13.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.2 assist over 1,085 regular-season games. He played another 130 postseason games, averaging 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds.
